Location, Props and Costumes

Location
I am to take photos of different people in two different locations, I will photograph two people using the studio which include a green screen, I used the studio because it had good lighting and I was able to create a backstage photo for my contents page and also a clear head shots, because it was a green screen it made it easier to edit the photos as I could clearly see what needed to be done. The other location was Belton, River Waveney, I choose this location because there was good lighting and good scenery to create the background, it further created an authentic look showing that theatre art school students come from normal places like the countryside and small villages not just big cites. I further chose this because it was quiet and peaceful and unlike the studio created a natural look with the natural setting of things like the wind and hair.

Props
I am going to use very little props the most I will use is a chair to create a few different shots especially looking for the backstage pictures because this will make it look more realistic a show people a more truthful approach of a photoshoot.

Costumes
For the costumes I am going to have my models wearing their normal clothes because students who attend to theatre art schools are just like normal students so they would mostly wear normal clothes and this is what I am trying to portray throughout the images and the magazines therefore using normal clothes and no costumes as such.

Colour Mood Board

For my colour mood board I decided to take the top 5 colours that the customer said they would like to see on my magazine front cover, the reason why there was five is because some scored the same percentage but this also allowed me to have a range of choices shown and to choose from when it comes to the making. I decided to create my mood board by showing the different shades of each colour as some may be better on different backgrounds for example the darker end of the mood board will be used on white backgrounds and the lighter side on the darker backgrounds. I have included a variety of tones to show this and also allow me a variety of choice in when choosing which final colours to use, black will be used mainly for bold striking things like the masthead but may need a different shade of it for the outline to make it stand out of the page. I clearly laid out the mood board so it is obvious how they differ in shade, tone and also their group of colour.

Original Ideas Statement

The magazine that I am going to create is a musical theatre magazine. I decided on this because there may be music magazine out there but they mostly focus on the main genres, so there is a gap in the market for the type of magazine. The target audience is going to be mass market because people of all ages are interested in musical theatre men and women, therefore I am going to aim it at everyone not on set age or gender group. The magazine is going to be mainly focused on musicals in London’s west end and there music but will include other information about the shows they come from and also include some beauty and fashion by including things like costumes and makeup. It will also include advertising for things like new musicals, box office, places to eat and other things that are going on in an around London. The main colour scheme will be blue, black, yellow, red and green as these were the top five colour within the questionnaire and help to make the magazine content more clearer. The title page will include a full size image of my model for the background with the main cover line in the bottom left hand corner and the mast head in the opposite corner, it will also include the cover line, main cover lines, barcode and price. The contents page will also include am image of the front cover and have four sections, on the cover, features, regulars and where to get the magazine, it will also include the mast head and issue number. The future article with have a  main image of the same person used on the front cover as the background along with a mast head, pull quote, gutters and a side bar.
